      Pros

Pay and the health benefits. Great career if you are not a person of colour.

      Cons

Publicly humiliated by acting manager including at meetings, shifting goalposts, mixed messages, when you needed clarification only to be asked what do you think, blames pandemic for decline in productivity when it is caused abuse from this person, subject to putdowns no matter what you do, and complained that you did not respond in two minutes upon receipt of emails. In the division that I worked in, all the managers were white and all Black people were in the junior ranks.

Pay and Benefits decent but culture will kill you

      Sep 19, 2021 - Border Services Officer

      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

You can’t complain about the pay or benefits (although they haven’t been updated in years it’s still better then nothing) but the culture will give you mental health issues. You’re just a number and moving up and assignment opportunities depends on who you suck up to.

      Cons

the culture will give you mental health issues. You’re just a number and moving up and assignment opportunities depends on who you suck up to. You also burn out easily with volumes and they try to avoid giving OT so upper management gets bonuses.
