    Pros

Great location in Toronto Office and great industry. Best middle place for a better place to work.

    Cons

They advertise as a diverse inclusive organization but it is not. Micro bulling is common in the culture.

    Advice to Management

Train people on anti bulling as it seems that people do not know they are doing that.

I have been working at CPP Investment Board full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance that's the only pro mostly because no one likes to work or rather because people are more compared to work

    Cons

People are hired purely on networks no consideration for talent. Tech stack is age old, most of the people in technology have zero knowledge of finance . Few managers are not technically capable of holding the position nor do they have business knowledge they just hold that position because of their political skills. Hierarchy is given a lot of importance people in management have minimal respect for associates not at all a professional place to work at.

I have been working at CPP Investment Board full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good office location in downtown

    Cons

Too bureaucratic, the opposite of a meritocracy, think's it's a world class organization but it's far from it, in 2 years there have been 2 firm-wide reorganizations - nobody has a clue about the direction of the firm

    Advice to Management

Pick a business plan and stick with it for longer than 1 year

    Pros

Highly professional, have programs that help develop employees on enterprise level; smart talents cohort; great vision and drive at senior management level.

    Cons

Surprisingly high turn-over rate in Finance & Operations, which have a different culture from investment teams. Mid-management (managers/sr managers) is not strong enough to implement improvement and drive people/things forward. It depends on the manager and team, a few teams can be discriminate and not supportive in career development.

    Advice to Management

Improve talent strategy and technology infrastructure; take actions to strengthen manager/sr manager level employees; take feedback from both current employees and exit interviews more seriously; build systematic ways to encourage behaviors in line with the guiding principles.
