A dynamic environment and rewarding place to work
Oct. 8, 2019 - Senior ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
CPCS offers an energetic, fast-paced and fun work environment tackling some of the world's most significant infrastructure challenges. At the consultant level, working on project management and analysis, it remains very interesting with a diverse range of work tasks and projects. There are travel opportunities as well. Colleagues are diverse, intelligent and supportive. Top management (two managing partners) offer vision and leadership that is easy to get behind, and moreover feel proud of. The strategic direction of the company is solid, and rapid growth palpable. Very positive corporate culture. Opportunities to own shares in the company will be given to proven employees.
Cons
CPCS has high expectations for its consultants. If you don't fit, or can't adapt to the company's processes or business environment, expect to be shown the door even if you were top of your class. For some, this is daunting, but for others it is motivating. A strong work-life balance is promoted, but in reality overtime and long hours may sometimes be required. However the work is generally fun and interesting.
We do take process seriously! This ensures that we can work together – across the globe - with as little friction as possible. It also means we can focus on adding value for clients, and maintain the extremely high level of quality for which CPCS is known - and not on internal administration.

A global company with interesting infrastructure projects
Oct. 15, 2019 - Senior ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. Interesting projects in infrastructure development, transaction advisory services and consulting 2. Ability to work on projects across North America and in emerging markets, with possibility to travel. 3. Reasonable work-life balance, with ability to work remotely and flex time. 4. Great team with interesting knowledgeable colleagues, working from all over the world. Truly a global company. 5. Decent benefits (health coverage and paid time off)
Cons
1. The compensation is on the lower end for similar roles. 2. The bonus structure, while being transparent, is very tight and doesn't offer incentives to put in an extra effort. 3. Not enough focus on talent development, as the work culture is driven by billable hours. If you want to develop a new area of expertise, you have to do it at your own time and expense.
