I worked at Boston Pizza part-time

    Pros

The online shift scheduling module made switching, selecting, and checking shifts simple.

    Cons

Food quality is sub standard, it has a very cheap corporate gimmicky feel behind the scenes. Managers often times have poor people skills with staff.

    Advice to Management

Managers should bolster the confidence of their staff, and know how to support and motivate them. This position should be reserved for someone who knows how to inspire and coach.

I worked at Boston Pizza full-time

    Pros

    - good tips
    - friendly staff

    Cons

    - if you punched in something wrong, you pay out of your own pockets (not that I would make a mistake all the time, but if I was slammed and forgot to put "no shrimp", I was forced to re-punch another order in and pay for one of them)
    - no benefits
    - clientele at my location was horrific
    - Had to make all our own drinks (alcoholic beverages) and the bartender would still get their full tip out
    - hard to book time off work for vacation
    - had to pay walk-out insurance every night during cash out and if you had a walk out it would be determined by the manager's discretion
    - manager would cut a lot of servers and keep only 1-2 people on (even if there was a rush to cut labour wages)

    Advice to Management

    - need to learn proper management
    - need to follow the proper rights for Labour Laws in Ontario
    - need to learn how to do proper seating rotation

I worked at Boston Pizza part-time

    Pros

    -good tips
-You'll be able to serve anywhere else after

    Cons

-Less than 10% of revenue goes to server wages so you'll always be understaffed
-Very Stressful since you'll perpetually have to take more tables than you can handle

    Advice to Management

dedicate at least 12% of revenue to servers. It makes the servers less burnt out and guests happier because they're not waiting 10 minutes to be visited when it's busy
