I have been working at Boeing full-time

    Pros

Exciting work, good benefits, competitive pay and bonus, international travel

    Cons

American culture, so you’re expected to be ‘on call’ all the time, and you don’t get the time back if you have to work weekends. The international offices are not always reflective of the U.S. offices when it comes to management standards and opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that international offices are streamlined with the U.S. offices so that development and job opportunities are consistent globally.

I have been working at Boeing full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Benefits are good. I like being allowed to work from home sometimes, as well as having an alternate work schedule.

    Cons

Age discrimination is alive and well at The Boeing Company. Told I couldn't advance without a degree. Spent all of my free time for 6 years doing what they said. Can't even get an interview for a professional position. Others at the company are experiencing the same. Meanwhile young graduates are handed those jobs on a silver platter without any job experience or knowledge of Boeing systems/policies/procedures.

    Advice to Management

Why not reward your longtime older workers for their hard work and their loyalty? And how about giving more than just lip service to that "inclusive culture" that you're always promoting?

      I worked at Boeing full-time

      Pros

Benefits are good: good healthcare and good 401K matching program.

      Cons

Hit or miss on the managers you will work under. While some are good and look out for their employees, most are simply trying to further their own careers with little or no regard for the progression of their employees. Many will refuse to delegate and are quick to hold high-visibility opportunities for themselves. If you are looking for a company that provides solid opportunities for upward mobility and career progression,...

      Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. Get rid of all the so-called-leaders who refuse to look out for their own people and think performance evaluations are a save-for-the-last-minute annoyance best handled with a copy/paste stroke, rather than a sincere evaluation of an individuals efforts, accomplishments and contributions.

      Negative Outlook
      Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Boeing full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

good work life balance, good pay, good benefits

      Cons

Almost everything is over managed and decisions often are driven by how things have been done before or to please an upper level manager instead of based on engineering or root cause analysis. The company likes to keep you doing the same type of work repetitively limiting your growth. The company often starts new initiatives to improve work but quickly fall back to they way it has been done before.

      Advice to Management

Try to make some changes and actually stick to them. Treat your employees as more then a resource. Instead of telling people they have to switch roles because you think it is best, talk to your employees and ask them what interest they actually have.

I worked at Boeing full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Good benefits; competitive salaries; good work/life balance; company shuts down between Christmas and New Year's.

      Cons

Benefits have eroded significantly over the past few years. Performance Based Incentive program appears to be very unfair.
