Review : Hope, BC - Unqualified people in the management. This is a micro factory of Nestle in North America. There are many unqualified and inexperienced employees put up in the management. Internal job postings would ask for a university degrees plus 3 to 5 years of experience, but some of the management employees are in place at the moment who won't even qualify or fulfil the requirement to sit in an interview for these jobs. In addition, these employees are lacking on communication skills and to understand North American work environment. No on site permanent HR person makes it really difficult for floor people when they have any concerns about their supervisors. Lack of morale in workplace Unqualified people put up in the management Lack of respect for people on the floor Short staffing makes it hard and difficult for people on the floor to work in a safe manner No standard work or performance review procedures in place No full time HR on site Job threats when people on the floor makes any mistake, but not a single action taken against any serious mistake made by management employee(s)

Pros

10+ years with NWNA, and I can tell you there has never been a dull moment. This is a very fast paced organization that simply requires an employee at any level to be nimble, take initiative, demonstrate a willingness to learn and be accountable to your results. Roles often have an overflowing plate; however, you typically have the ability to navigate your path and have a large role in determining the outcome.

Fast paced, ever changing = can be challenging at times; limited resources.

Good benefits, good co-workers on the production line.

Cons

Management takes no interest in the people working for the company, and has very little knowledge of daily workings of plant. Not available for advice, as they have none to give. Information sharing is almost non-existant, communcation between management, supervisors, and production is slim to none. Basically the right hand has no idea what the left is doing. There is little to no acknowledgement from management when a job is well done, and no accountability when something goes wrong.

good pay, good benefits (if you are full time), exciting work environment. some good co-workers help make the day enjoyable

no respect, managers verbally abusive, they work you to the bone, take away all home life, guilt you into overtime, get angry when issues arise that are out of your control

very fast paced, long hours, extremely high pressure for delivering results and keeping High AI (Asset intensity).
