Pros
This was a good place to work. When I was there you were given opportunities to grow and take on new challenges as long as you were very good at your job. This company has taught me a lot and invested a lot in my skills. I am thankful for the experience and skills I have learned there. Pay was very good, vacation time was above average, benefits were excellent.
Cons
I was laid off in 2013. Office life was quite stressful in the last year because of the layoffs happening around the company. While work life balance was preached a lot at BlackBerry it was never really very fair. Another major con for me was dealing with all the naysayers, it affects you more than you might think. It is a shame there is so much negativity towards BlackBerry and the media is so brutal on BlackBerry. The latest products are actually very good.

Pros
Lots of really smart people and exciting work. The work life balance is dependent on which area of the company you're in. Some areas are great, others not so much. Same as any large employer.
Cons
You can have the greatest ideas and products in the world but if no one wants them...it doesn't really matter. The only knock I had when I was there was that a lot of the managers and directors while I"m sure they are very smart go there for taking up space and being in the right place at the right time. They didn't have experience outside of BlackBerry and so had very limited world knowledge or views.
