      Pros

You will work with a lot of people who try their best, good machines and big cintiqs. There are some interesting high quality projects, specialy if you choose to go to 3d animation. Also very opened to hire internationals.

      Cons

You will only know about your future in the very last minute. You have to push and push to know from them if you are get a new contract or not. It's not even certain with person you have to adress to know those kind of stuff. Also not good for inexperienced people, because the company tends to get very complicated project for very low budget forcing the production to hurry up. For those who are still young in this industry is a great learning but expect long work hours.

Negotiate your contract as well as you can.

      Pros

The studio is in a great location, and offers a lot of work in a variety of animation industry fields. The pay can be pretty good IF YOU NEGOTIATE WELL when you are hired, and they offer benefits. The quality of the shows and the work being done is quite high. The studio has a long tradition of working on great shows and is well established in the larger industry. The best part of the studio, however, is by far the employees. Great people.

      Cons

It is a very management heavy studio. As often as they say they put artists first, they are pretty notorious for treating people like screwdrivers by always bending over backwards for clients at the cost of employee health and moral. If you want to be an animator, expect to work some fairly long hours. While the pay can be good, management will low ball you fairly hard, especially hard if you are new to the industry. Make sure to negotiate as best you can.

      TMNT seasons 1-5!

      Pros

Ah, Ninja Turtles TV series 2012-2017. It had its ups and downs over 5 years, but for me it was a constantly challenging, fun, learning environment with some of the best people I've worked with over 20+ years in animation. Had a blast there, 16 weeks animation/episode, bump weeks, 3 stages, solid writing, great balance of acting and action, and terrific production support will not be replicated again. Season 5 was the best, Leading Team Leo was an experience I'll never forget!

      Cons

Some people were overworked and burned out on that project; it was extremely demanding and sometimes difficult to watch people struggle who were outside of the sphere of help.

      Very Mixed Feelings

      Pros

It's a big studio, but it feels like a small one - everyone talks to each other, very casual environment. It's a great place to ask questions - everyone wants to help you learn and get better at your job. Lots of really talented, experienced people work here. It's a great way to make connections. They also believe in promoting from within, so if you start with little experience and show that you're willing to work hard and learn, they will give you a better title. This is a great place to get your start in animation.

      Cons

Corporate just doesn't have all their stuff together. Every decision is made last minute (from the top down) and often changes on a whim. The HR and Facilities teams are under-staffed and over-worked, so it takes forever to get a request to those departments resolved. Again, it's not because they aren't doing their jobs, but because they're stretched too thin. They also aren't very good at allocating money - they only buy standing desks for $100 or less, second hand off craigslist. Recently a whole team of animators kept getting errors because they didn't have enough memory for their computers - yet at the same time, corporate spent extravagant amounts on fancy plants and kitchen renovations that were more cosmetic than practical. Overcrowded Studio

      Pros

Some fun animation projects, downtown studio close to Skytrain (Stadium). Christmas Party.

      Cons

Too much work, not enough support. Bardel is growing, and is getting pretty cramped (not enough washrooms, desks, software licenses, server space, slow internet connection and lack of help) make it a lot harder to work than it should be. Some projects seem like they are running ok, others are serious overtime and weekends (unpaid overtime of course). Bardel never says no to any of their clients, so also expect tons of revisions.

      Pros

People are the big big pro at Bardel, for an artist you usually end up with excellent animation on your reel and you will for sure grow, hence there is a fantastic community, the HR department and recruiting is awesome, very caring and considering the number of employees they have to deal with they are doing a great job. Depending on project it can be a positiv or challenging experience.

      Cons

Upper managment is in transition and you can feel it.

      Pros

Good TV experience. The shows were fun to work on. Many talented animators.

      Cons

High quota. Seem to have some growing pains still. The budget for the shows are too low. It seems Bardel way underbid. For the quality the directors want it is not achievable.
