    I have been working at B&Q full-time

    Pros

The people are great, you can make a career for yourself, it's part of something bigger, it's a business that cares about sustainability and ethics and hard work is recognised.

    Cons

The usual retail issues; you will always have inconsistency in stores and colleagues that feel disengaged or underpaid. It comes with the retail sector but is a genuine and legitimate issue for many B&Q employees.

    Advice to Management

allow individualism and originality to triumph over tradition

    I worked at B&Q part-time

    Pros

Good company to work for as part time job. Some managers can be a pain but my department managers and supervisors were amazing. We had a good team so working there was fun. Avoid toxic managers and this will be a great place to work with a really good hourly rate.

    Cons

Some managers from different departments try to order you about and get you to do work that their team should complete. New store manager set insane targets and threatened to sack you if you said those targets were unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Set realistic targets and make it easier to achieve a bonus. No point telling us a bonus is available but meeting the targets for it are insane. Train managers from some departments to communicate properly instead of ordering people about and expecting them to listen.
