I worked at Aversan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A good way for new grads to get their foot in the door of the aerospace industry. Pretty young average age and they do a decent job of making it feel more like a downtown startup with the open atmosphere. At the same time, there's usually a couple of different projects going on at a time so you can get a good mix of different experience.

    Cons

Business model is based on farming out cheap (relatively) labour to their clients mostly in the form of software testing / test bench design and maintenance and it shows in the salary structure. Can be boom-and-bust type of business cycle so you're never sure what's next when your project finishes. The work itself can get pretty monotonous if you're not one of the lucky few who get to work on design.

    Pros

Wow, 5 fake reviews in 5 days. You can easily spot their fake reviews by how blandly positive they are.

    Cons

DO NOT BE FOOLED! Any company that needs to post fake reviews is clearly rotting from the inside.

    I worked at Aversan full-time

    Pros

-Very nice work environment (well stocked break room with pool table, etc.) -Plenty of opportunities to move up

    Cons

-Getting assigned to a project which you have the background for can be hit or miss

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to the skills employees have when assigning them to projects. This will make them more productive in the work assigned.

    I worked at Aversan full-time

    Pros

    - A truly hard-working and talented group of engineers. - A fairly diverse set of projects to work on. - Great kitchen with free coffee, fruit, and pop. - Rec area with pool table, video games. - Decent compensation package.

    Cons

A lot of "throw them in the deep end and see if they sink or swim" moments. Management does not have a good mentorship or training plan, which means in a lot of cases you will not feel properly prepared for your tasks. Long term vision for employee development is lacking (no continuing education initiatives, career planning, etc). You will bounce from project to project without much thought to your overall career... trajectory. Aversan likes to hire juniors because they are inexpensive and usually quick to learn, but this tends to overtax the small core of experienced people to the point of burnout. Management needs to focus less on winning every possible contract with a "shoot first ask questions later" mentality, and ensure projects can adequately be staffed. In other words, don't staff a project with 15 juniors and 1 senior engineer; it is a recipe for disaster.

    Advice to Management

    - You people are your greatest asset; start treating them as such. Give some thought to their well-being and mental state instead of just your bottom line. - Stop trying to win every project, and make sure you can staff the ones you win with the right team makeup. - Stop faking the LinkedIn reviews and address the core problems that are leading to disgruntled employees leaving them in the first place.
