I have been working at Audible full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Perks. Free food. Smart co-workers. Office cultures. Work life balance. Some projects are good.

    Cons

    1. Location is not ideal. Even though they provide shuttle service from the path station, the location is just not safe. I've seen people getting into fights with blood all over at the station and heard female co-workers being harassed at the station. 2. Managers play favoritism a lot. Be aware of the team you're joining. There are still some good teams and good managers. Not many though. 3. The management has no concern for the employee but only for what's beneficial to themselves. 4. Constant re-org. Lots of politics. You might be surprised. 5. HR team is the worst I've ever seen. A lot of them are not doing their job properly.

I have been working at Audible full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Audible has great benefits through Amazon - health plans, commuter reimbursements, complex salary structures that ensure pay equity. Audible-specific perks: free food (three places/menus to choose from now that there are three offices), barista, creative spaces to work alone or collaborate, Newark $500 (if you live in Newark, you can get $500 per month), Happy Hours, and much more... but most importantly, there's an evident desire to help the communities we work in. There are many mission-driven people who are supportive and helpful, something you only see at a start-up or a non-profit.

    Cons

Although I see this is a "Con" usually mentioned by a few others, depending on how someone views change, this can be more of a "Pro". There are many functions and roles that still need defining; due to being part of a fast paced industry, there are changes in structure and direction in order to stay competitive - this is not different from any other successful company. Overall, the biggest change has been growth - which is definitely not a bad thing.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your internship at Audible. We appreciate your feedback and we’re glad you enjoyed working with us. I’m sorry to hear you felt this way about working student compensation. We ensure that all our working student roles are compensated consistently. For our full-time roles, we routinely do industry benchmarking to ensure total compensation is positioned competitively in the local market based on the specifics of the job. I encourage you to address these types of issues with your manager, so that you can have a detailed conversation about your concerns. ~ Anne
