I have been working at Atmosphere part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Super flexible with schedules, they never gave me a problem when going to school. If you're into the outdoors, it's rewarding to help other like minded customers with gearing up for trips and adventures. The discount is also amazing

    Cons

Yearly reviews account for any and all raises, and it's hard to score well so pay creeps very slowly up. General retail complaints can also apply

    Pros

    Lots of flexibility, nice staff

    Cons

Having to perform Sales work when it isn't busy

    Advice to Management

Be more cognoscenti of the environment outside of work and how it relates to work

I have been working at Atmosphere part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A very relaxed work environment with little to no stress, friendly and supportive management, flexible scheduling. Social work environment and significant free time allow for interaction with other employees. Generous employee discount.

    Cons

Low wages, sometimes limited shifts available, high employee turnover rate. Management is too tolerant with poor employee performance and effort. Not a challenging or stimulating work environment. Can be very boring at times with little to do.

    Advice to Management

Improved retention of high value employees could be achieved by providing raises to deserving staff after proving their usefulness, rather than hiring unproven staff when staff leave due to the low wage.

I worked at Atmosphere part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great employee discounts, active coworkers that enjoy doing things outside of work also

    Cons

Can be tough if you end up with a bad manager

I have been working at Atmosphere full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount (in store and 3rd party)
    Time off is easily obtained
If a full-timer there are really good benefits packages

    Cons

Pay, pay scale is all over the place. Part timers and management within a dollar, new staff being hired at a higher pay grade then older staff
Raises only happen once a year and are 5 - 50 cents!
Poor management, in store and above "not my department" mentality
Consistent fundraiser `blitzes` leaving cashiers asking customers 101 questions at the till

    Advice to Management

If you want your staff to stay within the company treat them with more respect, and pay them more then they would make at McDonalds.
