I worked at Argosy University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Solid education institution. Very focused on delivering best practices for each program. Wide variety of career outcomes. Convenience of on-ground and on-line learning.

    Cons

Leadership turnover has created some lack of future direction. Aligning so many different schools can be difficult to get clarity about future planing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the needs of each individual location and respect their input to provide a more informed perspective on best practices at the local level.

I worked at Argosy University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive manager and encouragement to move forward with your personal educational goals. When people listen to the reach achievements of your efforts, it pays off in the end.

    Cons

No growth potential from this position. Online teachers are not on the same page as the faculty or adjunct teachers. There is a lot of turnover from this position.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees to coach them appropriately. Even if you have your own agenda, incorporate your staff's input for the betterment of the departmental goals.

I worked at Argosy University as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was nice that a lot of the work could be done remotely as the class only met once per week.

    Cons

The pay was a bit low ($2000 total for one course).

    Advice to Management

Try to give instructors more than one course at a time.

    Pros

One of the most successful Argosy campuses, the Hawaii location offers a solid work environment with great colleagues.

    Cons

Parent company, EDMC, is very financially shaky right now, so things do change and could change at any time.

    Advice to Management

Continue to maintain consistent excellence at the Hawaii campus. Keep up good morale and keep Argosy ahead of the pack for for-profit schools.

I have been working at Argosy University full-time

    Pros

The best part of my job were my co-workers. I did not mind going to work everyday because I had a great relationship with the people that I worked with, and I think that plays a huge role in your job satisfaction.

    Cons

I do not like sitting in a cubicle all day, which of course if you're the type of person who is use to this, it will be no big deal for you. I also did not like having to call the same "leads" everyday, and I sometimes felt that I was being pressured to enroll people who were not prepared to start a very EXPENSIVE education. The undergraduate program was bogus in my opinion, and cost WAAAAY to much!

    Advice to Management

    Do not micromanage.

I worked at Argosy University full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Argosy University offers a wonderful educational focus with their degree offerings.

    Cons

Difficult to attract students wanting more of a ground campus experience.

    Advice to Management

Potential students do not like to be pressured to start before they are ready putting the Admissions Rep, needing to hit specific numbers, in a difficult ethical tightrope.
