I have been working at Anadarko Petroleum full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great benefits: 9/80's, 401k match/pension, gym/cafeteria in Woodlands

    Cons

Bumbling bureaucracy with stagnant wages and no risk tolerance. Compensation is linked to experience, not performance.

    Advice to Management

The process of relocating employees to Midland (forced to move or else laid off without severance) did not reflect core values.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Anadarko Petroleum

    Pros

It was busy work that was too expensive to automate. Thus I could easily listen to podcasts and music while grinding out work.

    Cons

It was busy work that was too expensive to automate. Some of the data auditing projects were huge and took a portion of my soul.

    Advice to Management

Good luck trying to find interns now that the price of oil is at decade low. Don't rely on nepotism too much.

I have been working at Anadarko Petroleum full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The pay is good it’s at or above industry standards. The bonuses are good you just have to play the social game. Vacation is based on age not seniority at the company, which is how it should be.

    Cons

There is no feeling of true care and concern like they state in their values. This was an amazing company to work for before the FMOG acquisition now there is a feeling of deception as far as the way the legacy FMOG were ranked and brought on with APC job levels. We have been told things that were total lies about how promotions are awarded and the structure of bonus payouts. There is also rampant sexism, racism, and...

    Advice to Management

Truly take the values to heart, they are very good and if followed would make a big difference. Be aware of cultural biases, racist and bigoted remarks they are out of control.
