I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits , paid time off, free coffee.

    Cons

A lot of favoritism going on there especially in manual pick department. I worked in the Chicago , Romeoville office as a full time associate and those supervisors in manual pick are terrible. No matter how hard you work, they only favor those who speaks Spanish since almost all those supervisors are Hispanic. The annoying part is when the day’s work is over, they will ask us to clean for hours instead of allowing... us to go home and prepare for the next day’s work. They expect us to work like donkeys. Due to this, they have a lot of turnovers.

    Advice to Management

Management should sit up and eradicate this favoritisms going on or they will continue to have high turnovers. They should also advice supervisors especially manual pick to reduce the time for that cleaning, at least 10minutes of cleaning is enough since associates are expected to clean as they work. There’s no need cleaning for hours after a hard day’s work. One thing management can do to reduce the high turnover... rate at the warehouse is to introduce voluntary overtime which will always ask associates who are interested to work overtime to clean instead of this mandatory cleaning. Most associates who left like me complained of the same things I mentioned. Some people signed up for just the work, cleaning was not part of the job it should be overtime for those who volunteer. Allow associates to go home and rest for the next day instead of asking them to clean for hours, that’s ridiculous.

I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A challenging work environment, high compensation including good bonus, great benefits; mostly great co-workers - smart, hardworking, team players.

    Cons

Expected to work constantly like most large corporations - on holidays, PTO, when sick. If you're being bullied by a bad manager, don't look for support. Ran into a couple of very sexist men; upper management turned a blind eye to the bullying and bad behavior because this guy brought results they wanted.

    Advice to Management

Understand what is happening on the ground at your facilities. Pull in employees from satellite offices to feel like part of the organization.

I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, good communication, willing to apply substantial resources to advance projects.

    Cons

"Human Resources" turned out to be "Company Resources", as legitimate concerns and illegal practices were ignored and not addressed despite multiple attempts to bring them to light. The IT group is very much a "Good 'Ol Boys" club. If you don't march to the same beat and ask how high when told to jump (oh, and if your skin color is not correct for some groups) you've got a shelf life of about a year.

    Advice to Management

You've got issues down the ranks that need to be addressed. I'm sure you will continue to succeed, as there are plenty of candidates for the meat grinder. However, IT is a close knit community, and word is spreading.

    I worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time

    Pros

Great Benefits, Flexible Schedule, 30 min or 1 hour lunch option , Possible Bonuses

    Cons

mgmt should be re-structured, they have horrible communication skills, certain employees are micro-managed by supervisors & managers which in reality is not treated equally which is possibly due to gender, race, or just because they do not like or approve of you on a "personal level". The highly skilled trained dedicated employees are not respected, acknowledged or appreciated, and can be considered a... educated threat. They do not have enough males within the organization as full time associates or in upper management positions. African Americans are definitely treated unequally depending on who's supervising and managing them

    Advice to Management

if you have an issue accepting racial/gender equality and diversity within the organization you need to resign. Also can you please stop promoting associates that are "not qualified" to be in higher positions just because they are needed for the time being OR liked on a personal level , and upper management should stop "using" certain associates job performances to take recognition and credit for doing their own... job well when the lower-level associates actually did their job for them
