Pros
It is not a job, it is your own business. If you expect a job, you will be frustrated. It all depends on which SGA you join. The one I am part of my colleagues are awesome. They never shy from helping you succeed.
Cons
Not much work life balance. have to work really hard but it pays. If you can delay then make all the money and enjoy life later.

Pros
There are None at all
Cons
Absolutely horrible management, ridiculous pay scale. Commission based but they mislead you into thinking the lead cards they give your are eager and willing people searching for permanent insurance when in reality they are low income and old as dirt and do not want and cannot afford life insurance. It’s a pyramid Scheme and a scam of people taking advantage of others. They recruit anyone, make you pay for a bunch of hidden fees and licences. This company has no values, no morals and an absolutely horrible code of ethics. If you like loud obnoxious middle aged men trying to convince you you can get rich quick then sign up for this job. They sell the Fortune 500 and then use you as a slave for them to get more commissions . DO NOT ACCEPT THIS JOB. Zero work life balance .

room for growth, good mentorship
Cons
long hours, less work life balance

Pros
AIL offers flexible schedules that you set yourself with usually 1-2 hour meetings in the mornings. I had the opportunity to move up to supervisor role after about four months as a General Agent. Anyone can succeed at this as long as they are willing to put in a lot of effort and not give up despite any challenges. After you get more experience and knowledge of the company, industry, and selling, you can put in about 20-30 hours a week and still earn good money. The time you do spend working here (even if it is brief) you will learn about sales techniques, management, training, customer service, and the finance industry. -Flexible -Learning Opportunity -Good pay if willing to work hard -Good advancement opportunity -Great bonuses
Cons
What I mean by working hard, I mean working 6-7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Sometimes I wouldn't get home until 11 PM. You'll probably make hundreds of phone calls every week to potential clients. -No work/life balance -Sometimes hard to meet weekly goals -Gas gets expensive travelling all day (and they don't reimburse you for travel expenses) -Repetitive calling can become tiresome

Run for the hills!!!!
Mar 25, 2017 - Insurance Sales Agent in Windsor, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great support getting through the insurance licensing process. I literally can't say anything else positive about this company, I'm just typing here to reach the 20 word required minimum.
Cons
-PYRAMID SCHEME -no work/life balance -inadequate insurance products -unethical and deceptive practices (taking advantage of people who know little about insurance, making it seem like you're associated with unions/police/community programs) -lack of compliance with industry standards and laws (don't take notes on client meetings or calls, don't comply with Canada's DNC list) -awful "free benefits" for clients (ex $5K accidental death and dismemberment coverage that's only good for a year) -long work hours -extremely high turnover rate -terrible commission rate Seriously, if you're thinking of working there just don't. Don't drink the Kool Aid and run for the hills. Do not check your brain at the door and truly think about what they're telling you. They WILL try to brainwash you.

Cons
Work life balance, but can be fixed with proper time management. You need to work in order to move up to a position and sometimes sacrifice your family time.
