      Things have changed at Amerigas

      Pros

Good benefits and a good local team to work with.

      Cons

Amerigas preaches that safety is number one. But in reality all they care about is getting the job done no matter if it's safe or not.

      Toxic company culture

      Pros

So many of the field employees are fantastic people, struggling under difficult conditions. Pay was good, benefits decent.

      Cons

"You’re looking more for contradictions in what your employers tell you and what they actually do.” –Edward Snowden Google “kutv amerigas crisis” for the 5/10/2018 news expose, reported rather heroically. This is the epitome of creating a corporate culture of misery. One should honestly assess oneself: would I do that to my own grandmother for a buck? If the answer is a repulsive “no!” we’re not finished. One needs to additionally ask: while I wouldn’t do that to my own grandmother, would I devalue someone else’s grandmother for that same buck? Because the corporation’s name is on the invoice is merely a personal excuse for an imaginary paradise of grand self justification for the employee. It took time, but this is quite where I found myself and walked happily from a company with an ugly 2.7 star Glassdoor employee review rating (and decidedly worse: try filtering out the rank and file field employees from the generally glowing corporate reviewers with addresses in King of Prussia, Valley Forge and Houston) for a company with a significantly better culture but immediately less pay. We all have the prisons of our own fallible journeys. That’s just human being. That journey couldn’t be about spending 60 hours a week consoling a spiritual void with a conscienceless buck for me. “Look, if I had wanted to live a safe life, I would still be sitting in Hawaii in paradise with the woman I love collecting a huge paycheck to do almost no work. But what makes a life? It's not just who we think we are, it's the choices we make.” –Edward Snowden

      Just a number

      Pros

      Good team members, good benefits.

      Cons

No job security, you are just a number and would be let go at any time. You are not paid enough for the amount of work you will do.

Clueless Management and Executive Heavy company

      Pros

Decent Pay, good benefits, fun job.

      Cons

I can't speak for all managers but mine is pretty clueless, and the executives in the "ivory tower" are clueless to what the employees do. WAY TOO MANY CHIEFS and not enough Indians. Hiring process is really slow, and manager talks out of both sides of their face. Training is an absolute waste of time and big talk of safety that's not enforced. corporate makes everything harder than it needs to be, won't reimburse for expenses to do your job or mileage to go to mandatory training.

      Cons

No bonuses Opportunity to earn bonuses Better opportunity to grow within each department. (IE. Analyst 1/ Analyst II / Analyst III) gives growth opportunity for a resume’ Better procedures in place when people take leave or PTO. Eliminates stress of coming back. Need more cross training. Could have a better process for each department on properly training each position.

      Pros

      Good benefits, work-life balance, co-workers

      Cons

Tough industry to work in, especially during the winter months. Management was often absent in critical times and avoided tough conversations with upset customers.

A terrible place to work, Very Unprofessional

Dec 5, 2018 - Cusomer Relations Representative in Kulpsville, PA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The Benefits are good and the pay is decent. However, not enough to put up with the cons.

      Cons

Lack of basic civility. Severe personality conflicts coupled with entitlement issues make this a place to avoid in job hunting. Do yourself a favor don't waste your time and look somewhere else.
