I have been working at Allstate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Allstate seems to be genuinely interested in the local community the agencies are in. They also do fairly well as a brick-&-mortar business and loyal customers are plenty

    Cons

If Geico is ground beef and State Farm is a chuck roast, Allstate would be like sirloin. Not really a con but makes it a bit harder to push the sale with cash-strapped customers, which some states, like KY are in ever increasing numbers. Due to a diminished middle-class over the last decade or more, they might want to rethink their marketing strategy towards the working class, younger drivers, farmers, and mobile home owners. These seem to be the clientele other carriers are ok with, but is a harder sell with AS.

I worked at Allstate full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

With one agency, the pay was great, I was able to support my family. Agency owner was amazing, helpful and paid based on your sales history

    Cons

Once I switched and worked for a different agency I was barley making min wage, they were more interested in upselling larger polices to people and if you didn't meet all of your quota's for the month you were docked $2.00 an hour. ($1.00 an hour for not meeting P&C goals and another $1.00 for not meeting all confirmed life insurance appointments)

I have been working at Allstate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Allstate genuinely cares about being a "trusted advisor." They care about making sure that the coverages that are in place for a customer will protect them if there were ever an accident. If you're an LSP, you have the opportunity to win trips and travel around (a couple times a year). The goal is always consistent. Opportunity to win a trophy and build your accolades.

    Cons

Zero benefits. No health, dental, 401k, tuition reimbursement, nothing. Each office is individually owned by an agency owner who can run it how they see fit, and I know some of them can be shady. Checking in and being more consistent could be a real benefit. My particular agency has less than 10 employees and my owner likes to talk about everyone behind their backs. He makes us put up with people just because they're good in sales, but they're EXTREMELY toxic for the work environment. Also will stand around for hours talking about nothing, and brings politics into the work place. Very pricey compared to other carriers which makes our job to sell it even harder.

I have been working at Allstate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Easy job and flexible schedule

    Cons

Pay stinks and no year end bonuses are paid out when you make the owners lots of money on renewals but you don't see a dime from it.
