    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Alberta Health Services full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

There are always positions to fill for front line staff. Unionized employees get pay increases every year. There are many non-clinical departments where new ideas are welcome. The amount of paid time off is good. Being a provincial organization there are positions to be filled all across the province.

    Cons

The organization has too many levels and sometimes its difficult to get approvals. For the same reason, communication makes its way faster for some teams or departments. Non unionized staff don't always get an annual pay raise.
