I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - more work than you can dream of - you'll never be bored - good technical challenges - lot's of great people

    Cons

    - most reviews have been written by newer hires in exchange for a desk plant - vast majority of closed working permits, creating a labor intensive culture where people with little extracurricular activity are willing to spend most of their evenings and weekends working - high burn out rate - work on evenings, nights and weekends ; overtime is absolutely unpaid and not even kept track of - complete absence of work / life balance - everybody seems stressed, unorganized and overworked - high intensity low appreciation environment - feels like a sweatshop - middle management is non existent ; amateur hour at its finest - company mission is purely financial $$$

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good work environment. The people here are very nice and very smart. Lunch&learn, parties, beer o'clock are fun. The front end, back end guild, meetups are very helpful. You have a chance to learn a lot of new technologies. We use slack at work. If you have any questions, just ask, usually you will get a very fast response. I think it's a great place to work.

    Cons

There is no KFC and McDonald's near this company.

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn. Good mentors. No micro managing. Friendly environment.

    Cons

Work load is high in some teams, it is not equally distributed. Lack of appreciation if someone is doing hard work. Company is growing fast but employees benefits are standard. There is no change in benefits since company started.

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very enthusiastic and smart team. It has been great experience so far from the time of interview till current. The company invested a lot on people and that shows up in the interview process. It has been less than 3 months but I already started to enjoy working here. Every knows what they are doing and there is a great direction from the upper management. I came from Consulting and was part of the Big Four but it has been a smooth transition and I have a better work life balance.

    Cons

There are few processes which can be improved and I believe it is common with any growing company but the good part is Management is open to hear your ideas and try to work together on getting better

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company culture is great. Some of the nicest, friendliest people ever. People here are genuinely interested in getting to know you, help you out and make you feel comfortable. Levels are not a thing here. People treat you with respect, no matter your title. The CEO is super down to earth and takes the time to get to know you. Appreciate that he’s transparent about everything, which helps to give insight on what’s happening and what needs to be done.

    Cons

Not much structure, but it’s getting there. Still a very startup mentality where things can feel like they’re all over the place, but done with good intentions. You kind of have to figure out what you’re doing, which can be overwhelming but rewarding at the same time.

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Very friendly and welcoming staff - The onboarding process is amazing, you are trained and they make sure you have everything you need to be effective - There are issues with tech debt but the management is moving in the right direction to improve the software - The managers are very thoughtful, actively organize feedback meetings and genuinely listen to the concerns from their team - A lot of parties! - A lot of career opportunities in this growing scale up!

    Cons

    - Things can move a bit slowly and sometimes it can feel like the processes are bit heavy and it can slow down progress - The app is huge and it's hard to have the same standard across the app so things can seem messy

I have been working at AlayaCare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Alayacare is a fast paced startup with a great work environment. From coworkers, team leads and senior engineers to directives of the company and the CEO, everybody is very approachable and open to discussions. Since it's a startup you can really advance your career learning from the people around you. Also, the job you do is very meaningful, and the leadership of the company takes the time and effort to make you see that every line of code you write will help provide a better care for the people that need it the most, which is truly rewarding.

    Cons

Salary could be better. Also, being a fast paced startup isn't always great, and there are a lot of things to improve in the codebase, however, leadership of the company is aware and working on solving this issue
