I worked at Air Canada full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Scheduling flexibility and LOTS of time off. Great airline travel benefits. AMAZING benefits overall! You work hard, but work stays on the plane and almost never follows you home. Getting the opportunity to explore the world on layovers as a career is very unique and highly addictive in the best of ways!

    Cons

Hard on your body and it is a seniority-based career - There is little to no reward in working better or harder. The "incentives" are for you not to working below standards, you basically have to do your time to get a better salary (unless you want to become an in-charge flight attendant of course!).

I worked at Air Canada full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible career Steady pay raises Flight benefits When you get along with the crew, it can be really fun There are a lot more cons for me personally but admittedly many of them one can adjust to over time.

    Cons

Culture can be toxic (Us vs Them mentality) Company doesn't innovate, just follows trends Lack of transparency Seniority gets to people's heads Lack of solidarity Processes are a mess and there needs to be significantly more collaboration between departments Not much room for professional growth Reserve for the first year or more can be hard to adjust to (24hr on call basically) Harder to maintain a healthy work life balance in the beginning.
