I have been working at Aflac for less than a year

    Pros

Working as a benefits specialist for Aflac, I get to help small, family owned businesses and their employees protect their paycheck and their families. The people I work with love the options they have, the affordability of the programs, and that I'm right here connected to their community, providing them with the service they need at any time. I have the freedom and flexibility to create my own schedule, and the support I receive from my directors is greater than any other employment I've had.

    Cons

Commission work, so there are no benefits.

I have been working at Aflac for more than a year

    Pros

Many Pros when working with Aflac! Having been new to the insurance industry, I was sure what to expect. Aflac delivers a very specific need to businesses and individuals when it comes to their benefits and the growth of their organization. I've seen these benefits impact people first-hand, and its always good to know I could help them in a time of need. I thoroughly enjoy B2B sales, which is the primary focus of what Aflac can provide. It is fun connecting with business owners and becoming a real partner/resource to them. The learning process is not challenging, and there are great mentors in the Region and State that are more than willing to help if you need anything. Culture is big reason why Aflac isn't just another insurance company. You work with people you like and it is great to engage in occasional social events and friendly competition. There are many opportunities to grow as well. If you can put in a good and honest amount of work, you will achieve great results. At the end of the day, you are put in charge of how far you go and how successful you become.

    Cons

Not many downsides to working with Aflac...it really just has to be a fit for you. If you are not very well connected, it can be slow to start, but that doesn't mean you can't hit goals or build a successful career. If you have trouble managing a schedule or issues with public speaking, these will be roadblocks as well. Management of your time and effort is a key to success (this is no secret).

I have been working at Aflac for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent product, excellent company! I've been with Aflac for over 23 years and this company has provided me with so much opportunity for growth, flexible schedule, great training and great people to work with.

    Cons

You control your destiny. If you want to sit in an office and be handed tasks, this job is not for you.
