    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Aetion full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-work/life balance -"free" medical benefits -seamless -flexibility in scheduling -snacks -regular employees/co-workers are generally great co-workers -ability to work on "new" tech -flexibility to introduce new tech if solid use/business case made -removing some useless employees

    Cons

-executives seem to be hiring friends and unnecessary titles -some awesome employees "left" -excessive corporatization -moving to fast to corporate structuring -new branding is pointless and looks like a waste of money/time(anyone talked to about it had negative reaction) -agree with previous review top layer is somewhat stale -removing some amazing employees -not removing some other useless employees that are just warming a seat(very small percent overall)

I have been working at Aetion full-time

    Pros

$20 per day seamless allowance. Free benefits. Social mission. Generally good people.

    Cons

Proceed with caution if you're considering this company. The 5 people I mentioned in my title are experienced professionals with 10-20 years under their belt. There has been a slow and steady flow of incoming executives who are completely out of touch, potentially power hungry, and are very corporate. This corporate mentality is corroding the company's culture. Leadership and HR is at the epicenter of creating this toxic environment, with the exception of a few members. The most laughable thing is when they read this, they're going to think they're the exception, not the problem. Again, very out of touch. When January comes around, I won't be surprise if people start leaving in droves.

I have been working at Aetion full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Small company vibes. Good mission. Great collaboration. Even though it's a small company, it's methodical and organized. Truly top caliber talent here. Benefits are solid: healthcare is practically 100 % paid for by Aetion, bonus, equity, 20 days PTO, 4 % 401k match, unlimited sick. Fun company culture - there are a lot of opportunities to meet with co-workers for team events. Paid lunch! Aetion pays for your lunch every day you are in the office through an online delivery service.

    Cons

Short on space in the NY office. Sometimes it's hard to get a conference room or a private working area. Some ambiguity, overlap in responsibilities between teams.

I have been working at Aetion full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People-at the top are incredibly smart and highly regarded members of their respective fields (Founders+CEO), and throughout the company seems like only extremely intelligent, motivated and committed scientists and engineers/data architects/etc are brought on board. Good pay and benefits. Awesome Boston and New York office locations in the center of their respective downtowns. There is a strong focus on building culture and community, with many after work activities and team-building, pool tables and group lunches/afterwork drinks in office, most office-based team participates actively. Fun perks like $20 Seamless lunch credit in office every day.

    Cons

It's a start-up...some risk of long-term success even with strong VC funding and caliber of product and people. On the other hand even the largest established companies go through cycles of layoffs and have more pressure to meet shareholder demands than a privately held company so I'm not sure it's actually riskier than any job as far as long term prospects. Start-up challenges...more flexibility accompanied by being in the building phase on processes and roles for the rapidly growing teams.
