I have been working at Advantage Solutions part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The wage is significantly above minimum, the supervisors are attentive and respond quickly to anything that might come up, they are compassionate and generous and have truly pulled together for there employees that are on quarantine at this moment, they offer benefits to full and part time employees, regardless of whether you are new to the company or have been there for awhile I feel like part of a family my supervisor listens to my ideas and trusts my work and observations. I am proud to be with this company through this trying time and after we get through it, also there is potential to work more hours than given in a week, if you are the type of person that can learn fast and work on your own then you would love this job

    Cons

The company is in California so I haven't met any of my superiors in person, I had a little trouble starting out with my online training, there is no actual hands on training, I had to just kind of wing it with my handbook at first, I did not start out with many hours, as far as any paperwork for government assistance it is really hard to find someone to fill it out and turn it back in. It is really hard to get in touch with HR

"Unlivable pay, unlivable PT hours, unlivable km allowance, unrealistic client wants"

I have been working at Advantage Solutions part-time for less than a year

    Pros

They largely leave you alone to do the job, don't micromanage. You are mostly free to structure your day more logically, as long as you get the work done, they keep quiet, thank god. What meagre pay there is, is on time. HQ staff appear to be competent.

    Cons

The clients we represent must have got the contract because ASM must have pitched the lowest possible tender bid to get reps. 24 hours a week at a pay rate only a dollar 50 above what it was in 2006 (when it was a good wage) means you barely cover your living costs, food, rent/mortgage and you just 'exist'. PT Asm gigs are just a stepping stone to something better. Depending on client, your client regional manager can have quite unrealistic wants, obviously pushed onto him from dumb client HQ top brass. It's impossible on a part time week basis. ASM gives no benefits, no gas card, no RRSP - they don't cover sales rep insurance on your car. Just a km allowance that doesnt even cover gas and repairs. Pay is so bad there IS no life in your work/life balance, becuase on your day off you can't afford to HAVE a life. Forget vacations, fancy food, decent amounts of groceries. If you work for ASM part time, better start liking rice n beans, unless you work at the cushy ASM head office in the centre of the universe, AKA Toronto.

I worked at Advantage Solutions part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Trying new products, learning some recipes, not having management breathing on your neck.

    Cons

They pay very little and sometimes the events require a lot of preparation and it can be stressful especially with many of the ridiculous events they have you do like building a train with cardboard. The events during the Christmas season are also very time consuming and difficult to make. This is only a part time job so you must have another job to be able to survive. There is no health insurance either.

I have been working at Advantage Solutions part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Hours As in time before covid 19 were good 7am to 1pm now we’re expected to work noon to 8pm

    Cons

Company has no benefits for part time employees. It doesn’t matter how hard I work or how much I get done. Infact many days I finish my entire workload early which just results in less money and less pay than coworkers who complete half the work I do in double the time. These people make the same per hour as me because there is no raise for good work or longevity. NO time off. NO RAISES. Minimum effort equals maximum reward. Company treats part time employees as disposable. UNORGANIZED. No one seems to know what’s going on as the chain of commands is so big. COVID 2019 New York State. We are expected to work 12-8pm for NO extra money per hour in the worst infected state in the country. We weren’t given masks or sanitizer until yesterday and it’s April 27th. Tanya Domier Please stop with this blog every time a covid update happens. DONOT PRETEND you care about us bottom line employees. They offered $250 compensation a 1 time payment but you must meet many qualifications and jump through hoops to apply. I’m sure tanya has been working from home though! While I am on the front lines making $12 an hour. BARely minimum wage in NEW YORK. As store employees get $2 additional an hour!
