I worked at 4Ocean part-time for more than a year

    Pros

THIS COMPANY IS NOT A SCAM. Wonderful, interactive environment. Super friendly employees, and opportunities everywhere. I've been with this company for over a year and have watched it evolve from a cool company with a great mission to an inspiring company who is making change. I'm proud to be a part of such an amazing team of people who want to educate everyone on the issues the ocean is facing and create a change in this word.

    Cons

Customer service/ social media only get 30 minute lunch breaks when everyone else get's a full hour. They don't get al holidays off that everyone else does, but they do get holiday pay.. but so does everyone else. PTO is a little sparse.

I have been working at 4Ocean full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I started out as an intern here a little over a year ago and it was a great experience. I've seen the company grow drastically from about 40 employees to now almost 150. Once I finished my internship, I was then offered a full-time job here. At the time, I was still in school and they were very understanding with my schedule to where I was still working full-time and going to school which worked out perfectly. I've had great mentors here and if you're passionate about the company and what you do they really want to see you succeed. We also have fun work events for each month like bring your dog to work day, team building luncheon's, and fitness Friday. I enjoy working with everyone here and it is a friendly work environment that makes it enjoyable to come to work every day.

    Cons

The only con I have is sometimes communication isn't always there but as we continue to grow I hope that everyone can be on the same page.

I have been working at 4Ocean full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've worked at a good number of places and I must say that 4ocean has been the best job I've had to date. Upper management is professional yet friendly with an open door policy always. They provide good feedback so that you can learn and grow within the company. Each month there's fun, informative and team building activities with free food. They also really go up and beyond to make sure their employees are happy. Things are always changing at this company but definitely for the better.

    Cons

    None at this time.

I have been working at 4Ocean full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The mission is amazing. The all hands meetings are great. The management is awesome. The clean ups are amazing. The job itself isn't hard when you get the hang of it. If you do your job, you will get promoted. The only people who haven't moved up are those who have a bad attitude and don't do their job. The company is growing like wildfire. There is so much room for growth- I can't stress that enough.

    Cons

The lunch break is short, only 30 minutes. We do get two 15 minute breaks during the day, however, I usually always forget to take them. The PTO is only 7 days a year- that includes both sick days as well as vacation time. I will say that communication between departments could be better.

I worked at 4Ocean full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I absolutely loved working here, their mission is so important to them, as well as creating meaningful relationships with employees. The company was growing fast and they were able to accommodate the necessary work space, as well as the necessary tools to perform my job. You create great personal and professional relationships in this positive work environment. Saving our oceans and marine life is something everyone can get behind and support, and getting to be part of that is so fulfilling.

    Cons

Because they're still growing their incredible mission I sadly had to leave the company due to relocation for my partner's job and was unable to continue my employment with them at the time.

An incredible company to work for that's growing at an impressive rate. It’s a pleasure to work in a positive environment where everyone feels like family. The company truly cares about their employees as well as their customers. It's refreshing to see the passion from everyone here towards the company's mission of cleaning the oceans and coastlines. If you get the chance to work for them, do it!

    Cons

There is nothing negative to say.

I worked at 4Ocean full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People- The staff and the team I managed were the best I've had in my professional career. Passionate individuals that work hard and want to help each other succeed. The team I had the privilege to lead helped create a positive atmosphere. Cause- The company truly does what it sets out to do, make a positive impact on the oceans and coastlines. Cleaning, educating, and find new ways to improve the efforts really are a major part of the day-to-day. Management- Overall, the directors and other management in place are positive, hard-working people. They look for ways to not just improve the company but for ways to improve the individuals within teams.

    Cons

Communication- With any startup, the communication among teams and from leadership to staff can falter. This caused some unnecessary obstacles, but leadership is and has been working on methods to improve this. This included major changes happening within the company not being communicated to staff adequately.

I worked at 4Ocean full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are only so many "Pros" which can happen TO you. You have to search them out and go after them. My "Pros" can be someone else's "Cons" 1) There will always be an opportunity to showcase your unique abilities to solve problems. Make sure to step up when you know you can 2) You will build an immense sense of accomplishment and confidence through the learning of new abilities or successfully troubleshooting a problem/issue that comes up. 3) You will learn a lot about business and how a business can work. 4) It is never the same day twice. While some of the work is repetitive, there will always be something that will come up to make the day more interesting. 5) Food - there will almost always be food available. Make sure you go the gym often. 6) Benefits - I started when the company was so small, I had no benefits and by the time I left, the company had a handful of benefits for employees. This was only after one year. Can you imagine what is coming next? 7) The Mission. I am not necessarily a conservationist but being able to be a part - even a small part - of something that does good in the world was a nice welcome. 8) The People - The company is growing so rapidly so don't be surprised to see many different faces. It will give you a great chance to connect and network.

    Cons

Again, my "Cons" can be someone else's "Pros" 1) Communication. The company that grows this fast will suffer from communication bottlenecks. I didn't necessarily see it as a "Con" because I just saw it as a part of being in something so new that is growing so fast - but I can understand how others would interpret this as a problem. 2) Information wasn't always immediately available when needed. There needs to be more proactive planning and information sharing from the decision makers to prepare other departments and first-line employees to handle the great opportunities that were coming down the pipeline. 3) You may have to troubleshoot something on the fly. There will always be something new happening and you may not always know what is going on. Adaptability is essential to succeed. Deal with these situations as best you can. 4) Sometimes you will feel like you are just a peg on a wheel, spinning a million miles per second. Don't take it personally. Do the best work you are capable of. 5) You will feel small at times. Building a successful business and a developing a work-culture/environment to be proud of at the same time is a monumental task. It is not perfect, it will never be perfect. Adapt. Everything is a work in progress. 6) You will be playing parking roulette on a daily basis.
