I have been working at Zscaler full-time (Less than a year)

Zscaler is on a mission and everyone is fully invested in helping ensure both personal and professional success for all. It is such a treat to be able to wake up and be genuinely delighted to connect with everyone on video calls. There is never a shortage of people willing to jump in and help. Furthermore, everyone lives and demonstrates the corporate values - they aren't just pretty words plastered on our website. This is the first time I've ever worked for a company that truly believed in, and lived, the values. Awesome!

Being in such a hyper-growth state, you need to adapt and adjust to change quite frequently.

    Advice to Management

    Software Engineer New Grad Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Burnaby, BC
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Zscaler (Burnaby, BC) in September 2019.

    1. I was sent a coding challenge that consisted of 15 questions. 13 were MC/short answer, and 2 was coding. 1 was coding from scratch for a easy level leetcode question. The second one was debugging a much bigger, more complicated program.
    2. 30 minute interview with a recruiter, where he told me more about the company and asked some behavioural questions.
    3. Phone screen with a principal engineer. Asked conceptual questions about programming language differences. One technical question.
    4. Zoom on-site with 4 rounds of 1-on-1, all technical. Talked about past experience and did some technical questions.

    Interview Questions

    • Differences between C, java, and python. Which one would you use and why?   Answer Question
    • Given a function that can read 4KB of input at a time, design a wrapper function that can read x KB.   Answer Question
