I have been working at Worldwide Clinical Trials full-time

    Pros

Coming from a larger CRO, I have been more than pleasantly surprised. My onboarding experience was far superior than I thought, the investment in IT systems is excellent, everyone has been so welcoming. There is rewards program in place. Senior Leadership inform you what is happening. There is just a good vibe in this place.

    Cons

No cons. If you want to be in a place where you are listened to, and be part of building something great... this is THE place. Sure there are things that can be done better but guess what the opportunity is there to help make it better, rather than being told we will get back to you or ignored.

    Advice to Management

Carry on putting people first. Happy people do great work, great work means happy sponsors.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Worldwide Clinical Trials in December 2019.

    Interview

For me, after many years' experience with various CROs, I can identify the company's overall culture and expectations for regional CRAs at the time of interview. Whether it's by phone or Skype, and what questions were asked, are just not important.

What IS important is that I quickly and easily picked up that this company is just another CRA sweatshop. "Minimum 8 days on site per month" and "cannot guarantee you'll travel in your assigned region" are key phrases that were heard often. It's just another metrics-driven sweatshop in a CRO that will take on any kind of trial that comes their way. Beware!

Less than full-time work was being sought. I offered to be contractor or part-time perm. This was responded to with "we hire only full-time, permanent employees" which is known to not be a factual statement. Also, it was stated that "most CRAs work 50 hrs or so per week" which means they expect one to do the work of 1.25 employees.
