I have been working at Utimaco Safeware full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company has been steadily (and rapidly) growing for the last few years,
Their competitors are in complete disarray, and Utimaco's products have been considered quite good in the market, so the company could take a lot of marketshare from the biggest incumbents.
Relatively new CEO (appoint in early 2019), with a focus on growing the organization; has invested into new people, system and processes.

    Cons

Company suffers from "growing pains", it's scaling up but doesn't have the right systems, processes and people.
Very traditional and old-school type of thinking for a tech company. This is reflected in the way the internal IT systems are put in place.
Product organization is in disarray, but it's getting better compared to the last few years.

    Advice to Management

Invest into Products and Engineering. Stop hiring all the people from the competition and bring more leadership to the U.S. ofice.

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Utimaco Safeware (Campbell, CA (US)) in November 2018.

    Interview

A recruiter from a staffing agency contacted me about the role. She set up a phone screen with the hiring manager after I expressed my interest. The phone screen went well, and the hiring manager invited me to the Campbell office to meet with him. He was satisfied with my responses and set up a second on-site interview with two other two team members. Their questions were more technical, but nothing too difficult. Several days later, another company gave me an offer. After I informed the recruiter that I needed to make a decision, Utimaco followed suit and presented an offer the same day.

The process took longer than usual because the company was in the middle of an acquisition, but the recruiter kept me updated the whole time. Although I ultimately declined the offer after accepting the other one, this was overall a great experience.
