Upstream Works Interviews
Professional Services Manager Interview
Anonymous Employee in Monte VideoNo OfferNegative ExperienceEasy InterviewApplicationI applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Upstream Works (Monte Video) in May 2020
Interview
The first round was with the ceo. It featured your standard HR questions and a bit of your tech. background.
The second round was with their SVP or Operations. This one featured more in-depth questions about your tech. Knowledge (Ie sql, dB, framework). Then you had to talk about your project experience and that was it.
I must say that I understand that due to covid we are having video interviews, but the interviewer should not be having distractions while interviewing. It is not very respectful.
After I completed the interview, I was informed that my technical knowledge was not up to par as I did not handle at least 10 concurrent project. I guess handling 2 multi million dollar projects at a time is not valuable.
Secondly at no point during the interview was there an unanswered technical question.
It begs me to question if they were genuinely interested in my employment and the skills and experiences I bring to company. I hope this decision was not due to the colour of my skin. I’d be highly disappointed if it were. And I say this because if the ceo did not think I had valuable technical and project experience, how do I even get to the second round of interviews.
Overall I think they need to do a better job with feedback and providing the candidate with a valid reason for a turndown.InterviewWhat technologies have you worked with
