I worked at Uplight full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Other than the year-end bonus there is nothing that I can think of.

    Cons

Very bad attitude of the CTO. He thinks he is some kind of genius but he is not.

    Advice to Management

    Fire your CTO.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Uplight.

    Interview

Process was over 6 weeks, and multiple phone calls.

Email to set up initial interview with HR, then there's an aptitude test that you were asked to complete. Second interview with manager of team, third interview was a two hour meeting with two associates on the product team with an additional interview with team manager. The meeting with the two associates on the product team was unstructured, asking odd ball questions here and there that didn't feel relevant to the role. Along with the interviews over several weeks, there were multiple phone calls to let me know where they were in the process (good communication in the beginning).

The role was initially advertised as FT, but then changed mid way through the process to a "contract" role starting at 6 months as there was "restructuring" that was happening within upper management. Luckily I am in the position of not having to rely on this company for a job, but if I were, this would have been an awful experience finding out mid way through it's now a 6 month contract. There was no follow up email or phone call to let me know if they chose another candidate, just radio silence. Waste your time elsewhere, as the reviews do seem to be very true.
