Mission: Be Brilliant
We want you to be brilliant. Everything we do at UEA from investing in our campus, to undertaking ground-breaking research, is done with the intent of giving our students everything they need to thrive.
I have been working at University of East Anglia full-time (More than 3 years)
Work hours are reasonable and holiday allowance is generous. PhD students have the opportunity to earn a generous side income as an Associate Tutor. The university supports equality and awareness days for different things. In general, it's a nice working environment.
The management at the university makes the life of researchers and lecturers quite a challenge. Especially annoying is the incompetence of the IT team which is not able to provide proper support nor do they understand their own systems. The finance team is similarly helpful in making purchases utterly difficult.
Advice to Management
Finance and IT should support the academic staff who attracts the students and ultimately ensures an income for the university. The power is not balanced and these two departments are a thorn in the eye for proper work.
I applied online. I interviewed at University of East Anglia (East Anglia, SK) in October-2012.
1 interview via skype. very friendly ant typical interview questions about research methods and statstics
