    Negative Outlook

I have been working at State of Kansas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Public Health is a great concept. The overall mission is rewarding. People that have worked there many years are very dedicated to their job.

    Cons

The State is not well funded. Management is not open or communicative. Employees are not valued as they should be.

    Advice to Management

Management fails when they turn a dedicated, competent, and positive employee into a depressed, paranoid, and generally overall unhappy employee.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at State of Kansas in September-2017.

    Interview

Took a total of 3 months. Fill out the app, had the interview, checked my references did the security clearance check and the was offered the position 2 weeks after the finger print check. Results got back faster than expected which worked out great for me as far as a start date.
