I have been working at Simon Fraser University full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to work - lots of opportunities and challenges.

    Cons

The higher ed industry is not very everyone - it's hierarchical and bureaucratic. But, interesting to navigate the organizational politics, if that sort of thing amuses you.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any advice. It's not an easy industry - lots of traditions, and working with people (academics) who are not necessarily focused on the business aspect of the organization (as they shouldn't be). I believe senior management is doing the best possible under the circumstances.
