Our Vision and Mission

 Q4 Fun Facts

Our Story

Founded in 2006 with the goal of improving the effectiveness of investor relations through innovative, forward-thinking website solutions, the Q4 team designed an alternative approach to IR websites that put storytelling first and emphasized intuitive corporate reporting. By building a better, more dynamic platform, companies were now able to deploy what we call “websites without compromise”.

As our client base expanded, so too has our product offering. Over the years, we’ve carefully curated a suite of IR products geared to improve the lives of our clients and empower them to be leaders in IR. In 2015, acquired Oxford Intelligence Partners, a company that specialized in capital markets intelligence and customized analytics to IR professionals. With the addition of capital market intelligence as a core offering, Q4 now provides our clients both dynamic outbound channels to the marketplace and a unique inbound channel that delivers critical capital markets intelligence and customized analytics.

With the vision to become the dominant global capital markets platform that connects companies and investors, Q4 introduced Q4 Desktop to the market in 2016. As a result, our clients enjoy the industry’s first, fully integrated investor relations platform, which integrates communications tools, surveillance and analytics into a fully featured IR workflow and CRM application.

Q4 has been helping hundreds of global companies communicate their stories and strengthen their brand within the investment industry for over a decade. We’re proud of where we came from, and where we're going — and we will continue to push the limits and innovate the investor relations marketplace.

Our culture is what makes us great. At Q4, we recognize that it's our people who make us such a special and fun place to work.

A Day in the Life of a Web Support Analyst

Elizabeth Wood

Team Lead, Web Support

What is your role at Q4 and how long have you been working here?

I’ve been at Q4 for about 3.5 years. I was hired as a Web Support Analyst and have been promoted twice, to a Senior Web Support Analyst and now, my current role as Team Lead, Web Support.

Can you describe a typical day at your job?

Being Team Lead of Web Support can only be described as a balancing act. A typical day consists of not only completing my assigned tickets, but overseeing the entire queue. This entails flagging any urgent tickets, investigating escalated requests and issues, keeping an eye on reopened tickets assigned to agents who are out of the office, and delegating requests to agents who are best-suited to handle the task to ensure tickets are being handled quickly and efficiently. Being a Web Support Analyst means always being on your toes so that you can adapt to whatever our clients throw our way.

Beyond that, the Team Lead role affords me the opportunity to work closely with our agents to promote development. Through regular one-on-one check-ins and initiatives such as Collaborative Learning Seminars, I am able to work with the members of our team to help them reach their personal and team-wide goals, an aspect of my role that I’ve found to be quite rewarding. As a senior member of the team, I am also responsible for devising and streamlining processes to improve overall quality of life for all Web Support team members.

What do you like most about your job?

I’ve always been a little shy, so I was surprised to find that working with our clients quickly became one of my favourite aspects of the role. Emotions run high in our line of work, but I always find it rewarding when you’re able to take an emergency situation and turn it into a positive experience for the client.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find that my role requires a decent amount of report writing, which has always been a strength of mine. From client-facing summaries, to internal reports, to documentation of Support processes, there’s no shortage of opportunity to flex my writing chops.

Lastly, I love that the Support team works extremely collaboratively, both internally and interdepartmentally, allowing me to develop a rapport with many individuals throughout the company.

Can you describe the culture at Q4?

Great culture - my favourite social aspects are that we have plenty of get-togethers such as beer Fridays, and that there’s never any shortage of people to play sports or go to concerts with. In fact, I’ve met some of my best friends through Q4!

How has your career grown since starting at Q4?

I began my career  as a Web Support Analyst, responsible for day-to-day maintenance of client websites. About a year later, I was promoted to Senior Web Support Analyst. As a senior member of the team, I became an escalation point for client issues, and began developing/adapting processes to streamline the Support role. Over the next two years, I focused developing my managerial skills, and was ultimately promoted to Team Lead.

I have been working at Q4 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The people are great.
There is a lot of effort and investment put into keeping employees happy (office environment, social events, benefits, culture).
Q4 is in a stage of huge growth and I feel like they've done a good job at sharing the strategy and game plan with the whole company. Other companies I've worked for that's all kept private for managers.
Q4 is established and successful but still runs (in a good way) like a start up. There's flexibility to change, especially if it's a good idea that makes sense.
Darrell the CEO is really inspiring.

    Cons

    - Career growth opportunity exists, but it's sometimes hard to see the possibilities and what the path for me would be. My manager is very open to help/chat about this, but I'd like a way to see where I can grow in the future.

    Advice to Management

Keep being open and sharing the future of the business and the thinking behind why decisions are made. It helps to have everyone connected.

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Q4 (Toronto, ON).

    Interview

The interview process very laid back and I felt extremely comfortable talking about my past experiences and my future goals with the recruiter. The recruiter did a fantastic job explaining about the culture of the company.
