    Pros

There’s plenty of work to do if you like to keep busy.

    Cons

Directors and deputy directors are hired on a whim with no tangible and verifiable experience of unit roles or the expectations of leadership. Some can barely manage to send a regular email, they stroll into work whenever they want and spend all their time on their personal phones avoiding communication on pressing matters. That’s when you start getting all the work and any blame when things fall apart. If multiple spots are open on your team RUN AWAY because you’ll be doing that work in addition to work you were hired for. You’ll be isolated if you’re new no matter how hard you try. The cliques are very real and trust me you wouldn’t want to socialize with them anyways. The bathrooms are the stuff of nightmares feces, urine and blood from adult employees who cannot be bothered to be hygienic. There is no silence or privacy and everyone is always eavesdropping on you or watching you and reporting. There is very limited diversity and growth is something that is not merit based at all. Bosses can openly yell or harass you in the middle of a crowded office and no one says or does anything. The EEO office is an abomination. Forget asking for any HR guidance you’ll spend days physically searching for someone to beg for assistance. The union doesn’t do anything to help with everything that ultimately goes wrong.
