To symbolize the community’s proximity to the St. Johns River, a ceremonial ground breaking was held with none other than… paddles! WaterSong, is located within Mattamy’s master-planned community of RiverTown in St. Johns County, Florida. Our ongoing dedication to making our communities a better place is a critical part of what makes Mattamy special. In 2017, the Peter Gilgan Foundation and Mattamy Homes contributed $14 million to over 175 worthy organizations.
The Mattamy Volunteer Program (MVP) encourages and enables everyone across the company to be active volunteers and contributors to our local communities. Mattamy offers grants, donation matching and paid time off to volunteer.
In 2017, we paid out $13,560 in matching gifts and volunteer grants, benefiting 39 charitable or not-for-profit organizations.
From the various after-hours events our social committees host to the leadership development programs we have implemented, Mattamy is a rewarding workplace for young people to kick-start their careers and experience exciting possibilities.
Mattamy has a variety of programs and initiatives to help students and new grads achieve a fulfilling and long career as a member of the Mattamy family.
Mattamy’s Business Leadership Development Program, offers MBA candidates the opportunity to accelerate their career development, business knowledge and leadership skills through 18 months of business rotations within Mattamy. Program participants will cycle through many areas of the Mattamy organization, including: land development, land acquisition, finance, marketing and architecture, procurement and construction.
Mattamy’s Finance Leadership Development Program offers recent graduates with a finance undergraduate degree the opportunity to participate in 24 months of placements within our finance departments. Participants gain experience with operational finance, financial planning and assessment, treasury, risk management and financial systems.
WiN@Mattamy is a company-wide program open to all genders and employees, designed to accelerate the development, retention and advancement of high-potential women within our organization by facilitating career conversations and providing mentorship opportunities.
As a component of the overall WiN@Mattamy initiative, Mattamy introduced an internal sponsorship program, based on the successful #GOSPONSORHER program. Aimed at women in the beginning and intermediate levels of their careers, the program matches 18 of Mattamy’s high-potential females with 18 experienced leaders for a year-long, one-on-one sponsorship relationship.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Mattamy Homes (Toronto, ON).
They emailed me on a summer Saturday evening for an interview, which I thought was strange. We had a phone interview the following Monday and it was fine, except they seemed very old fashioned. The interviewer made a few comments about the organizations approach to work that were red flags to me but I accepted a second interview.
The second interview was fine. I got the impression it is a large, outdated, inflexible, organization that has mediocre work-life balance policies. The person who I would have reported to was good, but the HR rep made me question if it was the type of organization I want to work for. The job sounded interesting but I like my current job, I don't think it would be a good fit for me.
