I worked at Marks & Spencer full-time (More than 10 years)

Lots of social gatherings ! Made lots of friends

They treat there staff like dirt ! I worked on ladies fashions for 13 years and then I found out I was pregnant with my first child and because I couldn't do a 7am start because of morning sickness they pup me on foods to work ! They left me standing on an express till for 37 hours a week most of my days were 8 hours long and I did have a 10 hour shift !!! I didn't even get a chair to sit down on ! Had to fight to get my extra breaks that I was entitled to ! The mangers have not got a clue in how the store is run ! One manager in the store I worked was a bully and if she didn't like you then she would make your life he'll! ! She picked on one girl so much she left !!

    Advice to Management

If you are reading this then don't expect the staff to do the job of 3 people !! Treat them with respect as there the ones who are running your store and no what can be done ! There the ones who no what customers want !

    Easy Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Paris (France)) in March 2017.

Entretien avec deux managers d'environ 15/20 minutes. Pas de grandes difficultés, des questions sur ses expériences, ses qualités, et sur la raison d'une demande d'emploi chez eux. Véritable discussion avec les managers qui se sont montrés bienveillants.

Company Updates

  • "Part of the reason I joined was the candour I saw in the leadership team about the work that needs to be done—but also the passion across the business to create a culture where everyone feels they can belong and progress. As an employer, a retailer and a brand, we have both a responsibility to our colleagues and a huge opportunity to make M&S a more inclusive place to work and shop." Hear from our Group Head of Diversity and Inclusion Cleo Thompson talk about her new role and how we're embracing this year's #inclusionweek2020 theme #each1reach1 #eachonereachone #mands #inclusion #diversity

  • Providing our colleagues with available support and guidance across all areas of M&S is now more essential than ever. Just because we're not in the office that much, doesn't mean our culture of knowledge sharing and learning has disappeared – and our mentoring hub has played a key part in that.
