I have been working at Maple Leaf Foods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you arrive on-time and aren't chicken about working in the cold, it's a good starter job for a fresh out of high school kid, which I was. Lots of overtime when I was there which paid really well! If you work holidays, the pay is even better at 3x. I loved the easy to learn work and being able to be on my feet and physical at the packing line.

Also, the hours don't tend to change, so you're working 9 to 5 every day Mon to Fri. Nice and predictable.

    Cons

Coworkers tend to be from the bad side of town and come in sometimes high on God knows what or come in beaten up. Also, some of the men can be sexually FORWARD, as in hitting on the younger women and making them uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

The job is what it is, so I can't really suggest they make the job more appealing in any way, besides perhaps paying more attention to employees that are obviously drug addicts causing potential accidents.

I had an in person interview. All questions are standard and the interviewer was nice. The interview was more like a casual conversation. Questions are mostly behavioural questions, and resume related. The interviewer discussed about the pay in the end and the overall experience was great.
