    Android Developer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Berlin (Germany)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Lieferando (Berlin (Germany)) in December 2019.

    Interview

First, call with the recruiter who was very pleasant and friendly. She asked about my experience and a few other behavioural questions.

Next was a code challenge; I built an android app that basically sorted restaurants based on a few criteria or values.

A technical Interview with two Senior Android developers where we talked about my experience in Agile teams, team structure, CI/CD. Then we talked about the app I built in my code challenge; How to improve the sort algorithm. We talked about architectures, how I would go about synchronizing my local database with the remote one. We talked about concurrency/Threading and some other things I can't remember now.

Then a 4 ish hours call with the team. I met with everyone from the web team, to the mobile(iOS and Android), to the QA Engineers. I met with the Scrum Master and Product Owner. Then I had a closing with the recruiter I spoke with early in the process. This call was basically everybody trying to know me. We spoke about my likes, my experiences, travel history, favourite things. It was majorly about trying to get a connection.

The interview with the Scrum Master and Product Owner was more of behavioural questions. What would you do when X happens? how would you handle Y if X happens?

I had all these calls remotely. I never went on-site for an interview, and this made the 4 hours call a bit stressful and tiring for me.

Overall, it was a very good experience
