    Plant Health Specialist Interview

    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LawnSavers Plant Health Care (Vaughan, ON) in May 2013.

I submitted my resume after seeing the job ad on Job Bank. they contacted me for a phone interview. The person was very thorough and informative and allowed me to ask a bunch of questions. They then sent me a questionnaire to fill out. I sent that back and then they called me for a formal onsite interview. The people that interviewed me were really nice. The office was really cool and professional, completely unexpected (goes to show that initial perceptions can be wrong). I really felt at ease, although the interview was a lot more structured then I'm used to, but that made me really want to work there- if they take themselves that seriously, then I'm sure they would treat me well. I was hired after about a week, and all has been more than cool. They expect a lot from me, but I have lots of opportunities to earn more for working hard, so its not like one of those places where the harder you work, it doesn't matter! So far so good! I can see myself being here for a long time.

    Interview Questions

    • Tons of questions to find out what type of person I am and what I like to do in my free time. They don't ask ridiculous and meaningless questions like what type of ice cream i would be!   Answer Question

They are pretty clear with their compensation package- basically the harder you work, the more you make. You get a base plus incentives for quality and helping customers. Its; full time year round so i won't get laid off. Benefits kick in after about 6 months.
