Intelex has been developing, implementing and supporting software for Environmental, Health and Safety, and Quality management for over twenty years. Our worldwide client base of over 850 customers and 750,000 system users depend on our software to capture, track and report on essential corporate data.
Many of our clients rely on our software to maintain conformance or certification to commonly used standards such as the ISO standards (9000, 14000, 26000) while others leverage the powerful management and reporting capabilities to drive continuous improvement in their organizations.
For organizations that must comply with regulatory requirements, our applications provide a centralized database where information can be stored, viewed, and reported on easily from anywhere with an internet connection. Email notifications, powerful workflows and task management features make sure that nothing slips through the cracks.
Intelex's beginnings are rooted in the aftermath of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, when the loss of thousands of lives underscored the need for proactive, streamlined environment, health and safety (EHS) management.
Following a gas leak at Union Carbide's Indian pesticide plant in 1984, the company's industrial gasses division developed an EHS management system to ensure such a tragedy would never occur again.
Within a few years the paper-based system became insufficient for the volume of sites and complexity of operations, so the company called upon Intelex founder Ted Grunau to develop the world's first streamlined EHS software.
Fast-forward 18 years, and Intelex has become a global leader in the development of EHS and Quality (EHSQ) software. Every day, Intelex's electronic, web-based systems help businesses around the globe ensure the highest standard of health, safety and environmental conditions for their employees by streamlining and integrating EHSQ data. Intelex solutions help organizations ensure compliance with internationally accepted EHSQ standards, including ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001.
Central to our mission is a commitment to render EHSQ management as comprehensive and efficient as possible, enabling organizations around the globe to save lives, improve the environment, and boost bottom lines.

I have been working at Intelex Technologies (More than a year)
- Market leader in our segment, fantastic growth potential
- Software helps corporate customers reduce impact on the environment and improve the health and safety of their employees - a very worthy cause
- Significant increase in talent across the business over the past 18 months
- Staff are overwhelmingly friendly, dedicated and embrace teamwork
- loads of career potential for people who work hard and perform
- With fast growth comes lots of change, it can be fun but also challenging at times
- Many reviews note exiting of some employees as new roles/people brought on (I don't think this is a bad thing as business trying to up the expectations of our talent pool)
- Some legacy employees do not like change and seem overly negative (as evidenced in some reviews)
Advice to Management
Stay the course. The business has great potential and we have lots of great people to achieve this. Legacy staff that don't like new challenges should move on if they are not committed to building a bigger and better company.
