"Anyone who knows me will tell you that I need to stay busy. When I was younger, I worked for a cigarette wholesaler in Barrie, Ontario. I always liked the interaction with the account reps and that led me to apply and start as a Territory Manager in Red Deer, Alberta. After a while, I transferred to the Ontario trade before starting a new role as a Regional Deployment Coordinator. In this role, I take the marketing strategy and make it actionable in the region, as well as feed information back to the Head Office or my Regional Sales Manager on what’s going on in the region. If there are questions about a specific issue, I find the answers so we can build an action plan. There is never a dull moment in my job. It’s fast paced. It’s dynamic. I feel I can make a difference. I think the company is changing the game in the best possible way which makes it even more exciting!"

I have been working at Imperial Tobacco Canada full-time (More than 8 years)
Fast paced. Constantly evolving challenges. Part of a global network that allows exposure to different markets, cultures and business realities. Potential for global careers. Good emphasis on learning and development. Good balance between empowerment and structure. Good talent recognition. Great team culture and leaders that drive and motivate the organization.
Important to drive your own career and seek out opportunities. Self motivation and drive is key to succeed. Very fast paced - exciting for some, less for others.
Advice to Management
Recent emphasis on focus has decreased the time spent on peripheral activities/projects and enabled the amplification of our efforts in the areas that matter most.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Imperial Tobacco Canada (Toronto, ON) in December 2019.
Pleasant phone interview from the HR team. The interviewer was very pleasant and asked questions pertaining to previous experience and spoke about the job expectations. It is best to read up about the company and its products before attending the interview.
