    Pros

    - Flexibility to contribute to the projects which interest you (of course considering you have skills/knowledge to do that)
    - Lots of learning opportunities.
    - Opinions are heard irrespective of seniority.
    - Great work culture.

    Application

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Ideal (Toronto, ON) in October 2019.

    Interview

    I was refereed to this role by a friend. The screening was scheduled within a week of application.

    What is not ideal about Ideal? Toxic company culture and a male employee suffering from an inferiority complex.

    The interviewer started the call by pointing out that he was calling only because I had been referred to him by a friend of mine, implying that otherwise he would have never reached out to a loser like me. The interviewer was not listening to my answers to his questions when inquiring about my past experience and condescendingly kept reiterating that my experience was insufficient.

    While it's true that I had been unemployed for a few years, I had transferable skills that made me a good candidate for the position. But if the interviewer didn't think so, why did he call me at all? It's so wild that an adult person would call someone with the sole purpose of shaming them for their lack of experience!

    On top of all that, he called me from the street, apparently on his way to grab a lunch to nurture his arrogance, and all I could hear was wind and noise. Apparently, candidates like me don't deserve to be called from the office.

    The most ironic thing here? The company that hires such self-unaware obnoxious people claims to have a state-of-the-art talent screening & matching system:-D
