I have been working at Icom Productions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My colleagues at ICOM are very talented, passionate, honest, and hardworking. I continue to be blown away by the work they produce and the passion they have for doing a great job for our client's.
The company is at an exciting time as they roll out new initiatives to motivate staff and really listen to their feedback. I've worked at other companies where they say employee feedback is important, and then do nothing to act on that feedback. It's nice to see ICOM is really trying to be transparent and honest, with one of their main goals being improving the culture.
The hiring process is long and thorough. I interviewed over the phone with 6 team members, which really gave me a strong sense of the company and whether I would be a good fit.
The Management Team are approachable, supportive and set realistic expectations, allowing me to focus on the work and learning as much as possible.
Really happy to be a part of this growing and collaborative company.

    Cons

First time in many years where I've had no benefits. There is a small fund, and they are making some minor changes but would like to see full benefits being implemented in the coming year.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Icom Productions (Vancouver, BC) in September-2013.

    Interview

It was long - took about a month, they met me three times and called me twice. Because of this I had the feeling that they weren't convinced I was a good fit, however after seeing how they interview everyone over the past four years, this is just the way they do it - they're thorough!

    Interview Questions

    • Typical interview questions - what are your strengths and weaknesses, etc. They also asked about my personal success stories in business prior to meeting them.   Answer Question
