    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at HostPapa.

    Interview

This interview process by Hostpapa was unprofessional in my opinion. First of all, my interview was cancelled with less than one hour's notice due to one of the interviewers being sick. I understand completely this type of situation is out of anyone's hands, but I had taken a day off of work to attend this interview and to have it cancelled and postponed to another day left a sour taste in my mouth.

The interview itself was super easy, it took less than 20 minutes. The hiring team did not ask me any typical interview questions and seemed like they were more interested in if I had any suggestions on how they could improve their current marketing efforts, which of course, I gave my input. I then also had to do a long writing assignment (which they paid compensation for). There were 2 assignments which took me 5+ hours.

After that, I had to follow up multiple times for them to give me an update on the status of my application. Was told that many team members were on vacation and that no decision had been made yet. I think if a company was truly serious about hiring, they would not do it during a time when so many team members are out of office.

Unfortunately I thought Hostpapa was a transparent company with great company culture, but this interview process opened my eyes and being rejected from the job was really a blessing in disguise!\

The entire process took 1.5 months.
