I have been working at Handy part-time (Less than a year)
Fast cash and you work when you want.
Its not worth the strain you put on your car. Its not worth breaking your back to be underappreciated. If a customer does not respond to you when you arrive. You have the option to report that person as a no show and leave after half an hour. Well guess what. Customers can still leave a rating for you. It a not my fault as the pro who was 20 minutes early and waited 40 minutes, only to be left with no return call or message. I had permission for the app to leave half an hour after the start time. I was still compensates, but the pay is not worth it. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm being paid at the wrong pay tier. All inquires are handled through email and you will never be able to speak to an actual person. It could take hours or you may not get a reapons at all. If you have to cancel for an emergency
The fee could cost you more than the job is worth. You will always get paid the same amount no mater how big or messy the house is.
Advice to Management
Would be nice to have a more direct customer service than just emailing. Compensation could be raised as well.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Handy in March-2014.
The interview process was fairly intense. Steps:
1) Phone Screen
2) Phone Interview
4) Phone Interview With A Different Person
5) In Person Interview (included a beer after)
They seemed to assess against ability to do the job, desire to do the job and culture fit.
