I worked at George Weston Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As like all great businesses " its the people that make the difference!"

The people in the business really love the brands and truly are "foodies"

The company is genuinely giving back to the community with involvement in programs like Food Bank, and have lots of great programs in the diversity and inclusion space.

There is excellent opportunities for personal development and the company invests heavily in their people.

The workplace culture is friendly and people are down to earth and passionate about customer service, quality products and the brands they love.

Plenty of opportunity to get involved in National Projects, network, collaborate with other functions, and stretch yourself beyond your specific role.

Many great leaders across P&P (HR) and Operations that I have learnt a lot from. P&P - HR "do have a seat at the table!"

Diversity within the senior leadership team & Diversity and Inclusion in general is good.

    Cons

Need to be patient with legacy systems as the business transitions to new platforms and technology.

As with many businesses building a continuous improvement culture, there is a need to be flexible and patient with changes as strategies are cascaded through the functions - and not all ideas succeed ( the first time round)

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work focusing on Safety and also investing in Talent / Capability.
