"Before joining G-Research, I completed an Applied Mathematics PhD at Oxford, where I worked on modelling flows of customers inside supermarkets (in collaboration with Tesco). As a Quantiative Researcher, I work on producing forecasts of market returns using mathematical models and various data feeds.

The two biggest things that I like about working at GR are the smart and incredibly friendly colleagues as well as being able to strike a really good work-life balance (in contrast to a lot of the finance industry)."



Annie - Software Engineer

"I was 2 years into my BA in Computer Science at Cambridge when I first joined G-Research as an Software Developer Intern. I then came back to G-Research after I finished my degree, returning to the data development division as a Software Developer.

I first came across G-Research at a careers fair, where I was looking for something to fill my summer and get some valuable experience. After interning here for three months I knew that I wanted to come back.

I love the fact everyone continues to learn and adapt with the changes in technology. You have the freedom to try out new technologies and find the best fit for each application. The company is also very sociable, with monthly company drinks, a summer ball, and an annual weekend away, which is a great way to meet other people around the company. This creates a very friendly work environment. "

"I studied Computer Network Management and Design at the University of Portsmouth, following this I worked at a small UK hosting company for several years, running their OpenStack-based public cloud platform. I’ve been at GR for around 18 months and in this time I’ve been solely focused on engineering and operating an internal compute platform based on open-source software.

"I studied Forensic Computing and Security at Bournemouth University and completed a placement year here at G Research in the Security Operations team.  I knew GR had access to a lot interesting and innovative technologies so I was very excited and pleased when I received the internship.     I applied online. I interviewed at G-Research.


    Was contacted to arrange a written technical test, and video interview thereafter. The turnaround time for correspondence was quite fast initially, but as was said by some other candidates, I was just cut off from all forms of communication after the technical interview (which I felt I gave a decent attempt to all the questions), even after reaching out to the recruiter.

    It is understandable that the company may be getting a lot of applications, but I think that ignoring candidates after initiating the interview process doesn't make good company PR. Seems like the matter of seconds spent on at least an automated reply, or better yet, a script that does so automatically, would be a good investment.
