Flashfood celebrated International Women's Day in office with catered breakfast, speaker discussions and a mindfulness meditation! Our amazingly talented remote team joined as well through video conferencing, however they are not seen in this photo.
Our home is Toronto, but our impact is global.
We spent our careers in a variety of industries such as management consulting, finance, and emerging technology, however we decided it was time to do something different - something that would create a better world for future generations, while creating affordable access to food to everyone.
This stat got our attention and eventually created Flashfood:'If International food waste were a country, it would be the third leading cause to GHG emissions behind the US & China'. - National Geographic (March 2016). Also, one third of the world’s food ends up in landfills, that’s 1.3 billion tons of food waste annually.
Flashfood is located in the heart of Toronto's Liberty Village. Our growing multicultural team from different professional backgrounds is what helps enables us to make an impact that matters. Each of us has a personal responsibility to conduct business with high integrity while keeping our mutual goals and culture at the forefront of our actions. What started as a small company has grown into a movement and we're constantly looking for new talent to join our movement!
Flashfood is an innovative solution to help grocers solve the problem of food waste in store. We enable grocers to sell surplus food nearing the best before date through a mobile marketplace. We help grocers to significantly reduce food waste and improve profits, while offering valuable deals to feed people high-quality, fresh food more affordably. Our goal is to empower employees with a new innovative way to work towards zero waste.
I worked at Flashfood as an intern (Less than a year)
Amazing community that strives for a great purpose; to reduce food waste.. You are able to receive support and motivation to succeed in all your goals. The values and cultures are rare to find in such a rapidly growing company.
Nothing much to say here.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Flashfood (Toronto, ON) in August 2019.
Applied online and was emailed within less than 24 hours to book a phone screening interview to see if I met their requirements before being booked for a 2nd phone interview with the Support and Marketing Manager. Once you pass both, you're sent a questionnaire to see how you would handle different scenarios.
