ENMAX – Why Work With Us?

Instead of seeing your work and your life as two opposing forces – we think it’s better to aim at a smoother integration of these two sides of your life.

This means taking care of yourself and your family, supporting your interests, and ensuring you have access to help and care. It’s about having the option for on-site child care, a minimum of three weeks holidays and flex days, as well as time off for appointments.

Our benefits can be customized to fit your needs. Need extra coverage for orthodontists?  Select it. Need coverage for your pet? You can select that too. If our benefit plan is missing something you value, use your health spending account.

If you’re interested in working with us, then it’s safe to assume that you’re interested in where we’re going and the role you can play in getting us there.

Going forward we believe that growth, evolution and progress are critical – both for us as a company and for you as a member of our team. Our teams are already working on solutions for smart cities, transforming the grid, finding ways to improve customer experience, even updating and upgrading infrastructure.

Your future is just as exciting at ENMAX.  Each of us has access to training and development programs ranging from technical skills to leadership and professional development, on us.

Opportunities at ENMAX:

To step up.

To innovate

To help others.

To grow your career.

To grow our business.

To work hard and play hard.

To develop your skills and experience

To make a difference on our communities.

It’s simple – people power community.

It feels pretty good to know you have a role in making your community a better place. It’s means watching the lights come on at dusk takes on a new meaning. Other times it’s about being part of a team who’s stringing lights for kids at the hospital. It’s knowing that our success lead to a dividend which the City of Calgary uses to build parks and maintain areas where we all play.

We also support organizations such as the United Way that help others in our community.

I worked at ENMAX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work is intellectually challenging/engaging in terms of technical work and managing relations and expecatations. Great pay great benefits and best of all amazing colleagues.

    Cons

Middle management cannot figure out their organizational structure which results in constant reorgs, and this sometimes can affect employees. Techs make more than engineers which can be demotivating. Lots of politics and power struggles in upper management.

    Advice to Management

Foster organic changes instead of just adopting impractical management theories from textbooks.
